Pre-symposium activities are short courses and discussion forums. The aim of the courses is to upscale selected nursing and midwifery competencies. Nurse and midwifery students are essential stakeholders in nursing and midwifery education as future representatives of the profession. For this reason, a forum was included in the symposium to discuss student perspectives on nursing and midwifery education. In addition, another forum will be focussed on policy leadership. The target participants in the Policy Leadership Forum are decision makers, nursing schools’ directors, nurses from primary health care centers, chief nurses and nurse students. There will be the Second Nursing Education Program Directors Meeting to address nursing and midwifery education challenges in Azerbaijan and to discuss collaborative actions.
